Kerins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK, NY \u2014 It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Gold Card Member and Retired Local 2 Business Manager Emeritus, Daniel \u201cDanny\u201d J. Kerins. Danny led Local 2 from 1967 through 1995 and was an IATSE Vice President from 1987-2004.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Dan Kerins was smart, well educated, well read, well disciplined, tough, and a compassionate man,\u201d Said Local 2 Business Manager and 8th International Vice President Craig Carlson. \u201cHis successful, almost three-decade tenure as Business Manager leading IATSE Local 2 is legendary, not only in Chicago, but throughout North America.\u201d\u00a0Danny was at the forefront of creating the tremendous foundation that the IATSE enjoys and builds on today. Local 2\u2019s Annuity Plan is exclusively attributed to Danny, and he worked hard to fund it through countless difficult negotiations.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Dan\u2019s impact bettering the lives of stagehands will never be forgotten and his namesake will continue to grace Local 2\u2019s Daniel J. Kerins Union Hall\u201d Said Vice President Carlson.\u00a0His contributions to Local Two and the IATSE were many, he will be missed.
