{"id":2226,"date":"2017-08-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iatse.net\/2017\/08\/28\/iatse-donates-10000-to-assist-members-affected-by-hurricane-harvey\/"},"modified":"2021-06-21T16:29:31","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T20:29:31","slug":"iatse-donates-10000-to-assist-members-affected-by-hurricane-harvey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iatse.net\/iatse-donates-10000-to-assist-members-affected-by-hurricane-harvey\/","title":{"rendered":"IATSE Donates $10,000 To Assist Members Affected by Hurricane Harvey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK, NY \u2013 Due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, the IATSE will donate $10,000 to the Walsh\/DiTolla\/Spivak Foundation to provide financial assistance to affected IATSE members and their families.<\/p>\n<p>Local unions and members of the IATSE are asked to contribute what they can to the Foundation, enabling affected members and their families more flexibility to cope with the challenges created by Harvey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of this storm, many people are dealing with unexpected costs of temporary housing or medical bills,\u201d said IATSE International President Matthew D. Loeb. \u201cThe IATSE\u2019s donation will help, but it\u2019s also meant to kick-start fundraising from all local unions who can contribute, so that the Foundation can help affected members and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Money from the Foundation helps pay for food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities to affected IATSE members. Individual IATSE members needing assistance should submit a written request to their local union. The local union will then forward the request to the Foundation for review by the Foundation trustees.<\/p>\n<p>Checks should be made payable to the \u201cWalsh\/DiTolla\/Spivak Foundation\u201d and mailed to:<\/p>\n<p>The Walsh\/DiTolla\/Spivak Foundation c\/o IATSE 207 W. 25th St., 4th Fl. New York, NY 10001<\/p>\n<p>While credit card donations from individual members can be made, we highly encourage check donations as it is easier for our staff to process.
