Memphis, TN–International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and The Last Story of David Allen<\/em> (LSDA) are pleased to announce the successful negotiation of a mutually beneficial agreement. Both parties have worked to forge a partnership that will enable LSDA to film with the excellence of a union crew in Memphis, TN, while providing the crew with benefits and protections that can only be found in a union agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis shows what\u2019s possible when we work with filmmakers who are willing to collaborate and advocate for their own crews,\u201d said IATSE International Vice President Michael F. Miller. \u201cWe recognize Justin Gullett and Paul Becker for finding ways to provide benefits that all working artists and technicians should be able to enjoy and rely upon. We also commend the efforts of Neal and Ruv\u00e9 McDonough working with the union to affect such a great outcome for all parties, and we wish the project nothing but success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LSDA Director, Writer, and Producer Justin Gullett said that he, \u201chopes LSDA could serve as a model for how even low budget productions can be successfully filmed while providing the hard-working members of film crews with union benefits.\u201d LSDA Producer Paul Becker echoed the sentiment, \u201cWe are all grateful for the mission of IATSE to provide health and pension benefits to film crews and believe that filming under union agreements offers tremendous benefits for everyone in the motion picture industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IATSE and LSDA are also excited to bring this story to life in Memphis \u2014 a city with a rich creative legacy and tremendous potential for future film production. But more broadly, we look to continue building a new era of filmmaking that honors workers, strengthens communities, and keeps good jobs here at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The movie \u201cThe Last Story of David Allen\u201d is an upcoming thriller directed and produced by Justin Gullett and co-written by Matthew A. Sprosty and Justin Gullett. The film follows an ordinary man pushed into killing, chronicling the story of his last victim, the woman he tries not to fall in love with and the realization that it\u2019s never too late for redemption. Produced by Justin Gullett, Paul Becker, Tony Adler, Alec Griffen Roth, and Lauren Gullett. Starring Chris Mason, Spencer Locke, Zach Tinker, Denzel Whitaker and Neal McDonough as \u201cThe Talker.\u201d Now filming in Memphis, Tennessee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
