These elected officials have made clear that the best path forward for both parties\u2014and for the audiences who love Atlantic Theater\u2014is for management to return to the table and engage in real, good faith negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stakes for the Atlantic Theater losing support of elected officials are high, as the company received over $4.3 million in federal funds through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) and $205,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Despite receiving these public funds, ATC management is using their budget to hire expensive union-busting law firms rather than collaborate on a fair contract that addresses workers\u2019 needs, including industry-standard healthcare coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IATSE International President Matthew D. Loeb said, \u201cThe production workers have waited 17 days for the Atlantic Theater to provide a counterproposal, so this letter is timely.
