As February ends, so does another Black History Month, a time dedicated to honoring the rich heritage, resilience, and contributions of our Black Sisters, Brothers and Kin in our union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February, we recognized eight members with spotlights on the IA\u2019s social media channels and the Education Department launched the 2024 IATSE Human and Civil Rights Equity 21-Day Habit Forming Challenge<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. This is the fourth version of the challenge offered by the IATSE. These challenges offer a path to learn, discern, discuss, and take actions that promote curiosity, understanding and action that reflect our union values for all in our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Education Department also hosted a webinar, DEI Essentials: Building an Inclusive Culture in our Unions and Workplaces<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. This webinar focused on establishing sustainable DEI initiatives, essentials, and ways to learn how to create an environment of belonging in your union and workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we look ahead, together let\u2019s remain committed to building a future where diversity is celebrated, equality is upheld, and the contributions of all our members are highlighted. Thank you to our member spotlights, the Education Department, Locals and membership who all came together to commemorate this special month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
