The move follows the union\u2019s <strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/iatse.net\/iatse-launches-commission-on-artificial-intelligence\/\">creation of an Commission on Artificial Intelligence<\/a><\/u><\/strong> in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These principles reflect IATSE&#8217;s proactive approach to face the challenges and opportunities presented by AI and ML head-on. \u201cOur approach as a union must be comprehensive, focused on research, collaboration, education, political and legislative advocacy, organizing, and collective bargaining,&#8221; states the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iatse.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2023-07-05-AI-Core-Principles-FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here to read IATSE\u2019s Core Principles for Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technology<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith AI, the stakes for IATSE members in all crafts is high. There is much work to do, but I am pleased to report the union\u2019s efforts are already well underway,\u201d said IATSE International President Matthew D. Loeb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday June 30, IATSE Political and Legislative Director Tyler McIntosh joined senior\u00a0Biden-Harris\u00a0Administration officials and leaders from the broader labor movement for a discussion of the\u00a0implications\u00a0of\u00a0artificial intelligence (AI)\u00a0for workers, unions, the quality of jobs, and the future of work. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/07\/03\/readout-of-white-house-listening-session-with-union-leaders-on-advancing-responsible-artificial-intelligence-innovation\/\">Readout of White House Listening Session with Union Leaders on Advancing Responsible Artificial Intelligence Innovation | The White House<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the IATSE Education and Training Department released a LinkedIn Learning Path to provide IATSE workers with information regarding the fundamentals of current Artificial Intelligence technologies to better understand how these technologies could affect the labor movement, the entertainment industry, and the workers the union represents.
